1 June - Sanding parquet
It's been a great sunny weekend and we squeezed in a barbeque as well as eating plenty of things from the garden, but now it's back to the grindstone cleaning up my reclaimed parquet...

8 June - More hens

We have collected some more hens - Rhode Island and Light Sussex. Now back to cleaning up the parquet...

10 June - More plaster
I have progressed to the second (float) coat of lime plaster, which needs to be as level as possible as a base for the final coat.

18 June - Still cleaning parquet blocks
Well there were 1800 of them.

22 June - At last starting to lay the blocks

It's important to work out your centre lines then start laying in the middle of the room and move outwards.

24 June - All down

After a lot of cutting and jiggling around it's all done.

28 June - Sanding
Having sanded pine floor boards many times before I expected this to be easy, but it's taken two of us three days of long, hot and sweaty graft to sand down the oak as it's so hard.

30 June - The finished result

I expect I'll feel it was all worth it in a while when I've forgotten how much hard work it was!
