Property Talk
12th July - What's in a name?
For those of you who are internet aficionados and have been using the web for the last few years to search for properties, you will
be aware that there were two websites sourcing renovation properties across the UK for their subscribers - RenovateAlerts.com, and
this website, pickupaproperty.com.
Renovate Alerts and pickupaproperty.com were both founded for the same purpose: to provide information on renovation opportunities.
However, pickupaproperty.com not only provides daily email alerts, but also offers the option of a searchable database, and the flexibility of annual
subscriptions. Further improvements have followed over the years, including the private sales side,
offering the public the chance to sell properties in need of renovation without having to go through an estate agent.
In 2011 the company behind Renovate Alerts approached us to see if we
would be interested in taking on their website. Following negotiations between the two companies we have now effectively merged. The
search machinery and database at the core of the website are still provided by pickupaproperty.com. However we were always impressed
with the name, "Renovate Alerts". It does exactly what it says on the tin, so after some deliberation we decided to become
"Renovate Alerts powered by pickupaproperty.com". We hope you like the new logo.
Here at Renovate Alerts (! - we'll get used to it) we would like to take this opportunity to thank pickupaproperty.com subscribers
for supporting us over the last seven years, and also to welcome Renovate Alerts subscribers to a new and more flexible way of
receiving email alerts.
Here's to the next seven years - happy hunting!
